Katie and I want to thank our Frederic's team for helping make our Christmas party a LOVELY one. Everyone looked beautiful and dapper and we all felt quite Christmassy (is that a word?) We appreciate the fact that we all made the best of a TIGHT situation and still had a lot of fun.

And finally, we want to thank all the Frederic's ladies for our MOST EXCELLENT gifts. You guys go FAR beyond the call of duty for us.

Products We Love

My favorite facial product is the Tourmaline Hydrating Creme.  It is part of the Tourmaline line and the Botanical Skin Resurfacing Facial.  This super hydrating moisturizer helps protect your skin from everyday toxins and reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.  This mixture contains 11 natural anti-oxidants, meadowfoam seed oil, finely powdered tourmaline and vitamins A, C and E, which leaves the skin healthy and radiant looking.  I love to use it in the winter when my skin starts to get drier because of the weather.  To use, apply a small amount to the neck and work your way up using your fingertips in an upward circular motion.  This moisturizer goes a long way and takes a minute or two to absorb into the skin.  If you feel like you put too much on, gently pat your skin with a tissue to help absorb some of the creme.

Holiday Open House!

We had our annual Holiday Open House on Wednesday December 2nd, and it was GREAT!

There was a lot of yummy food, lots of good drinks, and everyone that came to visit was happy to be a part of the festivities. We offered complimentary neck and shoulder massages, makeup touchups, consultations, and 10% off gift certificates, and 15% off products. We want to thank Carol Holloway for helping us host the event, and Joanne Davis of Tasty Treats (JMDPAG@CS.COM) for the LOVELY mini cupcakes (with BUTTER CREAM FROSTING! yum!)

Happy Anniversary Erin!

Thanks for doing such a great job these past 3 years Erin! You are doing excellent work, and we have the utmost confidence in you! We appreciate all that you have done for frederics!

We are sorry to bid farewell to Stephanie Spielman- four time survivor and crusader in the fight against breast cancer. After a 12 year bout with the disease, she passed away on Thursday. She helped raise $6 million for cancer research for Ohio State University Hospital and also helped found a support group for young women with Breast Cancer. She was an inspiration to Ohioans and Americans and our thoughts and condolences go to her family.

Aveda supports the Yawanawa's social projects, including a solar energy system, a school, clean water facilities, and a village health clinic.

They are a non profit organization dedicated to keeping the Olentangy River and it's tributaries clean and safe. The site is VERY informative, and well worth looking into.

RECREATE!

On October 18th, Erin had her first haircutting class as Frederic's new In Salon Haircutting Coach. She went over two styles in the RECREATE collection which focused on new ways to cut classic shag and stacked bob styles. Katie, Morgan and Jay attended the class and each did an excellent job on their mannequin heads.  Erin's class was fun, informative, insightful, and there were SNACKS!

Fun and Food... What else do you need?

We had a team building cooking class at Woodhaven Farm last night and it was incredible! We talked, laughed and ate until we were unable to move. We were split into three teams and prepared a pan seared/oven baked rosemary cream chicken dish, a lovely jarlsberg dip with pita chips,

yummy garlic mashed potatoes, a light spinach salad, green beans with carmelized onions and individual chocolate molten cakes. It was SINFUL how good those cake were. Everyone had a great time, and we all worked so well together. The class gave us an opportunity to be creative, to interact with each other on a more personal level, to learn how our co-workers operate in a team setting and just have fun together OUTSIDE of the workplace.

BREAST CANCER AWARENESS

During the month of October, Aveda donates a portion of the proceeds from the sale of each special edition Pink Ribbon Hand Relief™ product to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. The Foundation is a nonprofit organization founded in 1993 by Evelyn H. Lauder and dedicated to funding clinical and genetic research on breast cancer at medical institutions across the globe.

In alignment with Aveda’s mission, Breast Cancer Awareness donations from Aveda North America are used to explore the environmental causes and links to breast cancer, such as exposures to toxic chemicals and pollutants. For a number of years Aveda’s funding has been directed to a research project at Columbia University in New York that studies the interaction between environmental exposures and genetic susceptibility to breast cancer.

Since 2004, Aveda has contributed $910,330 to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. In addition to the corporation’s contributions, Aveda employees and guests also have an opportunity to donate to the BCRF through fundraising activities held by the Aveda network throughout the month of October.

Plants Have New Homes!

Thank you to everyone who donated plants, adopted plants, and curiously inquired about our table full of plants as they walked by during our Plant Exchange/Adoption this past Saturday. All sorts of plants were being offered-like Bachelor's Button, Catmint, Aster, Obedient Plant, (lots of) Hostas, and Daylilies. There were too many other types to name, and guests had their pick of them all. You can't beat free plants, AND by adopting plants and placing them in your yard you are doing your part to help improve the quality of our air. Again we thank you for your interest in our little plant adoption service, and we look forward to seeing you again next year!
